Who we are
Bentley Electrical Services Ltd is an electrical contractor registered in England and Wales (company no. 09894718), with its registered office at 344 Wakefield Road, Barnsley S71 1TH. We are the data controller for personal information collected through this website. You can contact us by email at info@bentleyelectricalservices.co.uk or by phone on 07900 822 525.
What we collect
- Enquiry details — the name, phone number, email address, postcode and job details you enter in our enquiry form, or give us by phone or email.
- Technical information — our web host's server logs record IP addresses, browser type and the pages requested, for security and to keep the site working.
- Website usage — only if you accept analytics cookies: Google Analytics records which pages are visited, roughly where visitors are (town or region), the device and browser used, and how they found the site.
We don't ask for, and the website doesn't collect, payment card details or other sensitive information.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry, arrange a visit and prepare a quote.
- To carry out work you've asked us to do, and to provide certificates and records.
- To keep business records we're required to keep, for example for tax and scheme registration purposes.
- To protect the website and the enquiry form from spam and misuse.
- If you've accepted analytics cookies, to understand how the website is used so we can improve it.
We don't use your details for marketing, and we never sell them.
Legal basis
Under UK data protection law we rely on:
- Contract — to respond to your enquiry and carry out work you request.
- Legal obligation — to keep records the law or our scheme registration requires.
- Legitimate interests — to keep the website secure and to deal with enquiries promptly.
- Consent — for Google Analytics cookies, which are only set if you choose Accept. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Cookies and similar technologies
Google Analytics cookies are optional. They're only set if you choose Accept in the cookie notice; if you choose Reject or make no choice, they aren't used.
| Name | Purpose | Type and duration |

You can change your choice at any time using (also at the foot of every page), and you can clear cookies and browser storage in your browser's settings. This website's fonts are hosted on our own server, so no font requests are made to third parties.
Other services we use
- Our web host — stores the website and delivers enquiry emails to us.
- Our email provider — receives and stores the enquiries you send.
- Cloudflare Turnstile — spam protection on the enquiry form. Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address to do this.
- Google Analytics — website statistics, only if you accept analytics cookies.
Sharing
We only share personal information when we need to: with the service providers above so they can do their job for us; with NAPIT or a local authority where notifiable work must be registered or our scheme requires it; and where the law requires it, for example in response to a court order.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that don't lead to work are deleted within 12 months. Records of work we carry out, including contact details, are kept for up to 6 years after the job, in line with tax record-keeping requirements and our scheme obligations, and then securely deleted.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted or its use restricted in some circumstances, to object to its use, and to receive it in a portable format where that applies. To use any of these rights, contact us at info@bentleyelectricalservices.co.uk; we'll respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this notice
We'll update this notice if the way we handle personal information changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
